Who remembers that old song, "Anything you can do (I Can Do Better?)" If you don't, its basically about two people trying to outdo one another. I think sometimes in moments of pure and unadulterated stupidity, we sing it to God. But then God, in His infinitely tender mercy, sings it back to us. Not in the voice of a petulant child, but with the voice of a loving Father who's desire is for His children to have everything He intends for them to have.

A Matter of Honor
If we are going to attain the life that God wants for every believer we have to develop a virtue almost non-existent in the 21st century. Honor. Honor is key to receiving anything from God. God tells us in 1 Samuel 2:30 “But now the Lord says: ‘Far be it from me; for those who … Continue reading A Matter of Honor
O Magnify the Lord
O magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together. Psalms 34:3 I've been pondering lately on what it means to "Magnify the Lord." He is most certainly and without doubt worthy to be magnified and exalted. To be praised and glorified. But how do we magnify God? The obvious answer is … Continue reading O Magnify the Lord
A Year for a Suddenly
I know you're just itching to know what word I picked for this year. For those of you who are like, whaaat? Its grown in popularity over the years for people to pick a word -- or words. The Name
I was driving down the road the other day with Jenn Johnson's song, "The Mention of Your Name" on repeat. It. Is. Amazing. (You can listen to it here: https://youtu.be/5vXPVGeccCw.) As I listened over and over, I felt the Spirit of God wash over me and He spoke to me so strongly. He said, "My children … Continue reading The Name

They Hated Me First
This world, oh this world. In this world we are mocked. We are called narrow minded. We are called ignorant. We are despised. We have chosen to follow Christ and His teachings and for that we are exposed to the hatred of those who do not understand. We have chosen to model our lives by … Continue reading They Hated Me First
Go
Abram's story is one of my favorites. On one side, he amazes me with how he was usually so quick to obey whenever God spoke. On the other side he makes me feel a lot better about myself, trying to bring about God plan in his own way. One of the earliest mentions of Abram … Continue reading Go
Knowledge ≠ Faith
I heard something today that resonated with me... "Having knowledge does not equal having faith." 2 Timothy 3:7 tells us that there are those who are "always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." You can know about salvation, healing, provision, and the myriad of other promises that God has given … Continue reading Knowledge ≠ Faith
